Very Very Good. Only four stars b/c still missing just a little of something just not sure what. Followed recipe for the most part. Could not find chili mix listed by deb so used chili seasoning recipe from this site. Wonderful.... So far this is the best chili recipe I've found. Definately a keeper. Thanks
I have been searching for a while to find a good chili recipe and I found a keeper. I used McKormick's chili seasoning, 8oz of pace medium picante sauce, 2 1/2 cups of tomato sauce in addition to a can of diced tomatoes and green chili. I added a little bit of minced garlic and omitted the salt.
My husband has been hounding me to make chili for ever it seems. I always thought it was a long and involved process, but this recipe was perfect! I used a whole onion instead of a half. I couldn't find any "chili seasoning mix" so I used chili pepper instead. I also added two handfuls of brown sugar and a splash of sweet red wine. I will definitely be making this again!!
Excellent! I made a few changes: increased salsa to 16 oz jar medium chunky style, 1 full packet chili-o mix, and 1 small can V-8 juice. Used slow cooker and cooked on high for 1 hr, then reduced to low and cooked all afternoon stirring occasionally. Very pleased with result! Leftovers made great chili spaghetti.
This chili is AWESOME! I am not a chili person and I loved it. I added a little more tomato sauce because it seemed dry. I did not change anything else. Delicious. I will never make a more complicated chili recipe again!
I am here to tell you, I have made chili from 3 other recipes on this site. Always hesitant to make this one due to the lack of ingredients/complexity. WRONG!!! Best chili I have ever made! Don't hesitate, just do it!!
