Luscious Slush Punch Recipe
This fruity, fizzy, slushy pineapple-strawberry punch recipe makes enough to refresh a crowd.
This Red Slush Punch is a party MUST! It is sooo delicious, I make it for almost every occasion!
Three portions of banana citrus slush are frozen, and then served with ginger ale.
I submitted this recipe and it makes me smile to see so many people enjoying it. Thank you for your kind words. However, I have noticed that many of you have problems getting your "slush" right. I have one word for you, "MICROWAVE." Recently I went to my great niece's 2nd birthday and her Mom was panicked because there was no "slush" in her punch. I placed it in the microwave for a few minutes, then took a knife and broke it up until I knew that when the 7-UP hit, it would be perfectly slushy. Once again, there wasn't a drop left. The plastic containers make this easy to make ahead and then place in the microwave, however I haven't used the freezer bags as many of you have suggested and that seems to be a useful hint. I hope you continue to enjoy and be sure to share!
I followed this recipe exactly (except that I halved it and served it to 25 instead of 50) and thought it was wonderful. Very good flavor! The only thing was that I started letting the ice block thaw two hours before the party (because I didn't put into two different containers since I halved the recipe). So we didn't have the "slush" part for very long once the party got started. Once the slushy ice was gone, everyone just poured the punch over ice in their cups and it tasted just fine. I think next time I'll pull the ice out of the freezer only 1 hour before the party starts!
This is a very delicious punch!! I have made it for birthday parties, wedding showers, etc. and have gotten so many compliments. I only add about 1 cup (or less) of sugar since it's already plenty sweet with the jello, juices, and soda. I divide it in half and freeze it in ziploc bags. You need to take it out quite awhile before you want to serve it or you will be trying to chop up a solid block of ice. At least a couple hours before you want to serve it or longer. I've had to microwave it before so it would thaw enough to chop into slush. I like to serve it with ginger ale instead of lemon-lime soda. So good!! My go-to punch recipe!!
This is very good, people did ask for the recipe. After taking out of the freezer, flake it out with a fork first before adding the lemon-lime soda so you don't get large blobs. It's much harder to mix if it becomes large slippery blobs at the bottom of your bowl. It's also more work. Also, make sure you cool the lime soda first before adding or it will dissolve all the ice and won't come out slushy and also throw in a few floating icecubes to keep it cool. The pineapple is found in the frozen section of the grocery store, mine was 48 fld oz. not 46. Thanks for the recipe. This is a good one to try. I'll use it again. Kids and adults love it.
