I have tried several recipes for mashed potatoes from this site and they all came out kind of bland. These are PHENOMENAL!! I followed the advice of another reviewer and added 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder and 1/8 tsp of black pepper to the water when the potatoes were boiling. While mashing the potatoes, I added 2tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp onion powder, 2tsp steak seasoning and 1/2 tsp parsley. Oh, yeah, left out the sugar, and mashed the potatoes with a fork instead because my husband and I like them kind of chunky. I also left the skins on.

I am going to try this recipe tomorrow evening with Beef Wellington. One of the methods I always do when making mashed potatoes is to save the drained cooking water and once potatoes are mashed,adding the liquid back in along with enough WARMED milk or cream to the desired consistency. The water is full or flavour and nutrients! I'm assuming that the potatoes are left unpeeled?? I'm also taking the general consensus advice by eliminating the sugar!!
